I know what it feels like to question yourself, to feel out of place, and to want to shrink.
I also know what can happen when you stop doing that.
And that is the work I care about most.
Everything I talk about on stage comes from lived experience.
Today, I’m back in my hometown raising my three boys with my husband and supporting my dad.
Life looks different than I imagined it would,
but in the best way.
Over the years, I’ve worked in mental health, tried different career paths, moved across the country, done stand-up comedy, and eventually found my way into speaking.
It has been a lot of trial and error, but every step has shaped the message I share now.

I grew up in a small town in South Dakota where everyone knows everyone, and I was always the tall girl...
Not just tall. Really tall.
But when basketball ended, I struggled more than I expected. For so long, that had been the thing that defined me. I had to figure out who I was without it.
My height wasn’t going anywhere, so I could either keep fighting it or learn how to own it.
By middle school, I was already trying to hide it.
I would bend my knees in photos and do whatever I could to look more “normal.” I didn’t want to stand out. I just wanted to fit in.
Basketball ended up changing a lot for me. It gave me a reason to be in this body and something to feel proud of. I played in college and even had the chance to play professionally in Australia, which is still one of the coolest experiences of my life.
I stopped trying to make myself smaller and started seeing my differences as something that could actually connect me to other people.
That shift didn’t just change how I saw myself.
It changed how I show up in the world.
